Codecult and Gingco New Media developed a 3D-simulation of the Shanghai Maglev TRANSRAPID track for SIEMENS

CODECULT modeled a physically precise real-time simulation of the TRANSRAPID track. The TRANSRAPID is the next generation of high speed trains build by a consortium in collaboration with the SIEMENS AG.

CODECULT simulated the 19 mile track connecting the new Pudong Airport with the Ling Yang Metro Station with never before seen precision and accuracy. The simulation was build on the high-end 3D-Engine “Codecreatures” developed by Codecult.

The succesful trinity of technology, economy and design was formed by the design & multimedia agency Gingco, Braunschweig, who took care of the multimedia applications for the TRANSRAPID for several years.

Stefan Herget, managing director Codecult
“All of us at Codecult are proud to be part of this exciting project and being able to showcase the unsurpassed capabilities of our Codecreatures real-time technology through simulating the TRANSRAPID. The complete 19 mile track was modeled with a 99.99% accuracy. Original control data used for the real TRANSRAPID was the basis for the physically precise simulation of the track. The complete track can be interactivly driven in both locations, Shanghai and Braunschweig. Furthermore, Shanghai`s passengers can enjoy the simulated ride by viewing it on plasma screens located on the platform.“

Christophe Köser, project manager Gingco New Media
„Siemens` great technological demands were realy challenging for us and created the necessity for a competent and innovative partner. The possibilities of the Codecreatures technology, developed by Codecult, convinced us immediately. The result was just perfect.”

Christoph Bretschneider, head of Siemens - project Transrapid Shanghai
„A remarkable product like the Transrapid requires remarkable answers at any project stage for any question: this 3D-simulation allows a realistic view on Siemens` showpiece in China – also from Germany. This visual masterly performance shows clearly more than a thousand words can show and gets China to Braunschweig.”
